Sheffield United have a proud history of producing some outrageous talents from their famed youth academy. And what they have built over the last few years is nothing short of ridiculous.

United’s U21’s hit Crewe Alexandra’s U21’s for six on Monday afternoon which meant that they became Champions of the Professional Development League Group North once again. The Blades have now finished top of the Group North standings four seasons in a row and all by a considerable margin to second.

Throughout that time the youth academy has produced some wonderful talents including the likes of Iliman Ndiaye, Will Lankshear, Daniel Jebbison, Will Osula, Oli Arblaster and they have another talent who has seemingly been on the verge of a breakthrough into the first team for several months now.

20-year-old Louie Marsh started off his campaign in the Sheffield United development team, opening his account with two hat-tricks in two games. From there, his form earned him a place on the first team bench at the start of the Premier League season, but with competition for places he penned a loan switch to League Two outfit Doncaster Rovers.

Unfortunately injury cut his loan short and he would return to the Blades after scoring one goal in eight games in all competitions for Rovers.

After a few months of recovery Marsh was back in action for the U21’s and proceeded to score a further eight goals in six games to increase his season’s tally to an astonishing 14 goals in eight Development League matches.

And what better way to cap another brilliant season off with an outrageous finish against Crewe.
