Steelers Officially Announce Signing of CB Chandon Sullivan

The Pittsburgh Steelers officially announced the signing of slot cornerback Chandon Sullivan on Tuesday. The team announced it as a one-year contract. Terms of the contract were not announced.

The club came to an agreement with Sullivan on Saturday during the third day of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Sullivan, 26, is a five-year NFL veteran. The 5-foot-11, 189-pound cornerback first joined the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent from Georgia State in 2018, where he played for current Steelers assistant general manager Andy Weidl.

After one year in Philadelphia, Sullivan found a home with the Green Bay Packers from 2019-21 and became a starter in 2020 and 2021 as a slot cornerback. He moved on to the Minnesota Vikings in 2022, where he again started and played alongside current Steelers cornerback Patrick Peterson.

Over the last five seasons, Sullivan has played 2,166 snaps in the slot, compared to just 226 outside, according to PFF.

The Steelers drafted two cornerbacks in the 2023 NFL Draft, but both Joey Porter Jr. and Cory Trice are primarily outside cornerbacks.

Sullivan will help replace the loss of Cam Sutton, who was the team’s top coverage slot cornerback in 2022 before leaving via free agency to the Detroit Lions.
