Brian Burns added to Panthers injury report with elbow injury
Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

Carolina Panthers star linebacker Brian Burns was added to their injury report on Thursday afternoon, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. He was a limited participant due to an elbow injury. Burns currently leads the team with four sacks, so it’d be a major loss if he can’t play. The Panthers also placed Yetur Gross-Matos on injured reserve earlier in the week.

We’ll know more about Burns’ availability for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans once Friday practice rolls around.

Other players that landed on the Panthers injury report on Thursday were safety Vonn Bell (quad) and wide receiver Laviska Shenault, Jr. (ankle). Both of those players were ruled out of practice for the second day in a row. Carolina right tackle Taylor Moton (knee, rest) was given Thursday off. Guard Austin Corbett (knee), linebacker Frankie Luvu (hip), and safety Xavier Woods (hamstring) were the other limited practice participants for the Panthers on Thursday.
