Jaylin Simpson is having a phenomenal season for Auburn in 2023.
The senior defensive back from Brunswick, Ga. leads the country in interceptions and has been a huge part of Auburn's defensive success.
Auburn will face one of the best offenses in the country this week in LSU, what did Simpson have to say ahead of the game?
"They've just got some real elite receivers from what I've seen," Simpson said. "Nabers and Thomas, even the guys who don't get as much attention as those two, their quarterback Jayden (Daniels), they're just all playmakers."
Simpson talked about how forcing a turnover early could go a long way toward silencing the crowd.
"Getting a turnover would definitely bring some light to us, especially on the road," Simpson said.
Simpson elaborated on how he is looking forward to the challenge of playing in Tiger Stadium.
"I love Death Valley I'm not going to lie," Simpson said. "I like playing there, I can't wait."
LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is a dual-threat with a unique ability to extend plays. Simpson spoke on the importance of keeping him under control.
"Our d-line has to keep him closed in the pocket," Simpson said. "We can't let him escape too many times... For the DB group, if he does get out we just have to plaster... The dude is good and I like how he plays."
Slowing down LSU's offense will be a challenge, but Simpson is ready for it.
