Strange Days
My heart goes out to the people in SoCal who are caught in the fires.
Everyone say a prayer for those in need! I was watching 360 last night in the Seattle hotel and besides the fires there's a drought in ATL, flooding in the N.O., its still summer weather on the east coast (people wearing shorts in beantown in October) I am starting to get worried, these are some strange days, and if you include the ongoing war in Iraq, that just furthers my point. We have to start to change our actions as people on this planet! War is not the answer. The human race is far too advanced to continue acting like barbarians.
Just thought I'd vent a little because you are my people. Let me know what you think about our current state of existence?? I'll Holla?

You're such a nice guy Baron! I'm sure that most all of our thoughts and prayers are going out to the people in Southern California. I have family down in San Diego and in LA and what is going on down there is a scary situation. It's sad that this is happening but I think it's up to everyone to help the people in So. Cal. Even if the fires don't effect you personally, I think EVERYONE should FIND A WAY TO HELP THE PEOPLE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA IN ANYWAY POSSIBLE!

I was in DC last week and it was hot. It was about 80 degrees, and it is almost November! You can chalk that up to global warming.

the world's gone mad

Crazy times man and people are starting to understand. It takes people with access to get the word out and to convince others to change their ways. Keep it up BD! You got the mic and the power to drive some serious change!

Yo' BD,
These are some strange days. War, climate change and senseless violence all around us and all people want to do is watch reality TV.
Man, thank you for having a fu*ckin' point of view. I mean that in the best way possible. We (FTB) where discussing how rare it is to find a sports figure willing to stick out his/her neck for a cause, politicl position or whatever. It's really great to see you standing up for what you think is right. DT actually posted about your support of " The 50 Million Pound Challenge" and Obama '08.
Thank you for lifting the game AND the dialog too.
G. Dolin.

Feel you BD. I've been avoiding some these issues on the 'ol FTB in favor of some of the lighter stories, but there are some things out there that people need to say out loud. And sometimes in forums that aren't supposed to be about things that cut any deeper than the surface of the athlebrities skin. But thank you for speaking your mind. Bark long and loud BD.

I;m sad to say BD, the earth has had it with man and now it's like Brother James Brown says: IT'S THE BIG PAYBACK. I could go on and on forever but just a few lines to let you know how I feel.

Fires and wars, get used to them, they have occurred throughout history.

NBA athletes have enough of an influence to point us in the right direction. You, Melo, DMac and a few of the other athletes are doing an important job talking about the issues that matter, please keep it up. I had no idea about the droughts in Atlanta, thank you Mr. Davis.

No one asks for these things to happen, the only thing we can do is show our brothers and sisters unconditional love and concern. Take a little of our lives, our time and not only make others aware, but contribute to the efforts. I encourage people all over the u.s., especially college students to lead way in shedding light on these events.

Arson!! It appears as though most of the fires were started with matches...one guy was shot dead in the process down in the OC. SO, do you think that's wrong...1/2 mil people are evacuated. What do you think the people without their homes would have done to the fire starter. ? Funny thing is the nuclear power plant is right where all this shiz is going down, oh and a major marine core base. The red burning flames of the fires reflect on to the perfect serenity of the ocean, while ashes fall like rain
