Monta...

When I got the news about Monta's injury it made me think about my own college injuries and the road back to being healthy. I hope my little bro gets back on the court soon but my advice homie: BE PATIENT. The Warriors training staff is going to give him great support and if anyone can come back stronger it's him. Monta has the ultimate confidence and work ethic. But the most important thing is patience. I don't like to see when guys try to play hurt cause in the end they're the only ones who get judged by it. Fans and reporters sometimes don't mention that the guy's hurt. Sometimes they don't know. But everyone is waiting for you to be back to the level you were. As long as you listen to your body, are open and honest with the trainers, and you keep your goals in mind, then it's possible to come back even stronger than before. Look at Amare.... it's hard to believe he had microfracture surgery! MJ sat out his second season taking care of his foot while the whole league was screaming for him to come back. But he was thinking of his entire career, not just one season. Think about the future, be patient, and work hard at your rehab. That's always my advice when I hear people are hurt. Monta... praying for you bro! BOOM

  As a warriors fan, my heart stopped when I heard about Monta's injury just as much as when I heard you were leaving. Good post BD, I had a feeling you were gonna write up something regarding Monta. Keep the posts coming. By the way, I heard earlier this summer that you stopped into the restaurant that I worked at in Pebble Beach. Damn I wish I was there.

    monta is a stud, but a.i. is just on another level when it comes to dealing with contact. the guy is a human pinball. who knows though, maybe monta will prove me wrong. 10 isn't unreasonable but it'd be a feat, for sure.

  Its sucks that Monta is injured but if he takes you advice and is patient with is recovery then he will come and better than before!

  MONTA is a boss, i love that guy, i just hope he dont get anthing bad done to him if the Warriors find out he got injured driving motorcycle. Monta is just a player on a different level, i just hope that he wnt give up now and will be working hard 2 get back and start scoring 30 points right away like i thought he ould before he got injured. I wish Monta the best luck, he is just amazing

  Well said. I know it is the nature of the game to play hurt, but it just irks me when fans and reporters criticize a guy that has chosen to play hurt because he's not performing like his "old self". Think about the future, Monta!

  Actually you're wrong about Jordan. He did want to come back badly but doctors wouldn't clear him. He resented Bulls management for treating him like property and not letting him have the say in whether he could return. Jordan had a "love of the game" clause in his contract and he was playing pick up games before he was cleared to come back.
  
  Warriors fans better hope Monta has that hunger to come back. It's not a good sign that he lied about how he injured his foot.

  I don't get it...Monta didn't hurt himself balling this off-season. He's pulled a Vlad Rad and lied to his organization about how he injured himself. He was clearly doing something that his contract prevents him from doing. Of course we all wish him a speedy recovery, but BOOM, how are you not calling your teammate out for disrespecting the organization and all members associated with the organization, including fans!

  Boom...what's your thoughts on how Monta originally lied to the Warriors? I understand he was nervous but after what happened with Winslow, Rothlesberger and others, how can you be so stupid to do something like riding a motorcycle. Athletes get paid millions fo dollars to play a game so they should have to put up with limitations relating to food, drugs, alcohol and leisure activity.

    when you play professional sports for a living, what else could you do to get a rush? riding a motorcycle comes to mind... not sayin it's right, true professionals have the restraint to say no (or they just don't push the limits). i think this might teach him to make better decisions in the future cause the warriors need this cat. rootin for him to make a speedy recovery.

  aww baron ur so sweet....it is really hard to come back from injury. i have a ruptured disc in my back and it has really set back my tennis career, but you're totally right about how patience is crucial.

  Boom, I hate ESPN. Such a BIAS against the Clippers. I hate that you were voted the WORST NEWCOMER while Elton Brand gets voted the BEST NEWCOMER. You play a full 82 game year and you get no respect. Elton is coming back from an Achilles, and he's now Philly's "savior". So many Kobe RIDERS on there thinking the Lakers will win it next year. They just HAVEN'T learned their lesson since the Celtics gave them a smackdown. ESPN also has an East Coast bias at times when they aren't kissing Kobe and the Lakers' ass.. PROVE THEM ALL WRONG, BOOM! I'm sick of the negativity against the Clippers. Let them underestimate.

  Hope you're right, love Monta, especially for The Warriors sake. Sure, we had a star like you for a bit, but we haven't had someone this young and at the beginning of his peak to potentially be special in a long, long time. And hope you produce some good movies down south when you're done playing

  Baron, I wish before you left you could've given Monta one last piece of advice, telling him that mopeds aren't cool. Just want to say that I'm a big warrior fan and it hurt real bad when you left, partly because I JUST bought your city jersey, but it's all good. Honestly, I hope you tear it up in clipper land, (but not at the warriors expense), and just want to let you know that when you come back for a game up in the bay I will be giving you a standing-O. You did great things for the warriors, and we'll never forget that. Wish you were still here, but I get it, good luck as a clipper
